One of my students gave me two beautiful pomegranates yesterday, so…I took a few pomegranates pictures (yes, I have a huge collection of pictures, photos, sketches, etc) and I made a few pastel sketches. I’ll post only one sketch because I'm just getting back into pastel after several years away, and I’m really enjoying….!! Let me say something about sketches: I encourage my students to make a sketchbook because a sketching practice on a regular basis may help them to improve their artistic skills quickly. If you’re in São Paulo, Brazil, you can find nice sketchbooks and other paper stuff here: the sketchbook is on the table. And thanks everybody for stopping by my blog and for the nice and friendly comments. …I’ve met some wonderful fellow artists whom I call friends now! /// Uma das minhas alunas me presenteou com duas romãs ontem, então...Eu as fotografei (sim, eu tenho uma uma grande coleção de fotos, impressos, referências,etc), e acabei fazendo alguns estudos em pastel. Vou postar apenas um estudo porque estou retornando aos poucos ao pastel...depois de alguns anos...E estou gostando! Gostaria de falar algo sobre "sketches", ou estudos/esboços: eu encorajo meus alunos para que usem um livro de esboços - o sketchbook, porque quando você desenha regularmente isso acaba melhorando sensivelmente sua percepção e habilidade artística. Caso vocês morem em São Paulo, Brasil, aqui são encontrados ótimos sketchbooks e outras coisas em papel : the sketchbook is on the table. Hi Cembranelli, thanks for sharing your thoughts! A sketchbook is excellent, I agree with you. A spiral-bound sketchbook is a practical choice for field sketching and a helpful tool for artists. Your work is truly impressive, congratulations!
Lovely sketch Fabio. Yes, sketching on a daily basis is so very important. It is a goal, I never meet. Pastels are such a wonderful media. The color cannot be duplicated. I started with pastel and am trying to use them more often.
Nice Sketch. Yeah..is so helpful when we draw and analyse the subject before painting. Thank ou for sharing .
